What the business debt stress test measures
The test looks at the warning signs Valcor consultants see most often in businesses that are struggling with debt. It covers how many advances and loans you carry, how much of your revenue goes to payments, and whether you are falling behind. It also asks about taxes, creditor action, personal guarantees and the direction of your sales.
Each answer scores from 0 to 3 points, for a total out of 30. A few answers, such as being sued or falling behind on payroll taxes, are serious enough on their own that the test moves you to at least the Strained range.
What your score means
A higher score does not mean it is too late. In fact, businesses that ask for help early usually have more options. Valcor has helped small and mid-sized businesses work out terms with their creditors since 1994.
